“Pictures and words together make a third thing” *

The interplay between text and image has been central to my creative language since college and naturally led me toward editorial art direction early in my career. I approach collaboration with artificial intelligence as a tool for expanding creative possibilities—inviting clarity, critique, and unexpected pathways that can inform the final work. I’m not drawn to generating fantastical or hyper-stylized results that exceed my own artistic capabilities. Instead, I find it more compelling to reverse the typical text-to-image process by using images to generate text. This inversion offers valuable insight into how a piece might be interpreted by an external observer, introducing a kind of third-party perspective into the creative dialogue.
